Sūrat al-Ḥadīd (Part 6)
Part 6 of observations on the structure and organization of Sūrat al-Ḥadīd
This is Part 6 of the series on Sūrat al-Ḥadīd. Please see the last post for Part 5.
Section [D’] – The Messengers forms a parallel structure.
CONNECTIONS
[D4]/[D4’] – Both sections speak of Allah ﷻ sending messengers with laws to abide by.
[D5]/[D5’] – Allah ﷻ highlights the prophethood and guidance given to the descendants of Prophets Noah and Abraham and contrasts it with the love and compassion given to the followers of Jesus. The difference though is that Allah ﷻ adds that the followers of Jesus took the Book they were given and invented things not found within it.
[D6]/[D6’] – Those who are guided are matched with the faithful who were rewarded.
[D7]/[D7’] – Both halves end the same way, “wa kathīrun min-hum fāsiqūn (but many of them are defiantly disobedient).”
In Part 7, we’ll continue to explore this proposed structure.
